Imports and integrations
Import from Zotero or Mendeley, and understand connected-service limits.
You can always add a PDF, link or identifier directly. For a larger move, choose an import route based on what your existing tool can export.

Preview an import before starting it. Processing imported PDFs is optional, and leaving it off can save credits while you check duplicates and filing. See Add papers for the everyday intake flow.
Confirmed library imports continue in the background. Reopen the import dialog to see progress and the final row report. Importing the same bibliography again skips papers already in that project. You can export one paper, a selection, a folder or a project as BibTeX, RIS or CSL-JSON from Cite and export.
Send or sync material out
- Zotero: connect a personal API key in Account Settings → Connections and send a paper, folder or project to a collection. The connected send still needs live-provider validation. BibTeX, RIS and CSL JSON export remain file-based alternatives.
- Notion: connect your account and send paper details, a summary and optional note to a chosen page or database. This is a one-way send, not a live two-way sync; live provider checks are outstanding.
- Obsidian: the project plugin can import papers, summaries and your own notes into a vault. It is one-way and awaits real-client validation. File → Export notes provides a manual vault ZIP without a connection.
Connected services have their own access permissions and availability. Check the preview and the result report for skipped items, missing PDFs or failed sends before assuming everything transferred.
For your own scripts and event receivers, use the public API and webhooks. The Zapier and Make connector sources are being validated in their provider workspaces and are not listed public apps yet.
